Networks and Forums   

Voluntary Action Rutland (VAR) hosts three networks / forums to support voluntary and community groups who deliver services or support in Rutland.

 

The three networks / forums are aimed at meeting the varying needs of the wide variety of organisations and groups who operate in Rutland and provide information updates; training; networking opportunities with other charities and community groups; access to statutory organisations' decision makers and the opportunity to influence longer term strategies for the county through consultation.

The three VAR forums are:

Rutland Grass Roots Group 

An informal, supportive group of charities and community groups meeting every 6 weeks to:

  • Find out what’s happening in Rutland.
  • Find out about funding opportunities and other projects.
  • Promote your own activities and events.
  • Share experiences and support.
  • Network with local groups.
  • Explore concerns/issues and have them raised at County and Regional level.

Rutland’s Health & Social Care Forum for the voluntary & community sector

  • Networking and learning about health services in the community sector.
  • Understanding proposed changes e.g. NHS reform, new County Council responsibilities and how this will impact on Rutland.
  • Influencing local strategies.
  • Understanding the new commissioning agenda.
  • Exploring the possibilities of collaborative working and contract opportunities. 
  • Quarterly meetings.
  • Member-led forum facilitated by VAR.
  • Keynote specialist speakers.
  • An essential forum for finding out what is happening and how you can influence changes in the health service.

Forums in Rutland

In addition to the networks/forums hosted by VAR a number of other networks/ forums are organised by other organisations to support individuals and groups in Rutland.  These fit under the banners of:
