Funding

Funding for Communities
Do you belong to a new or existing community or voluntary organisation that is looking for funding to start something new that will benefit the local community?

If the answer is 'yes' then the Welland Community Grant Pot may be able to help you. Grants of up to £5000 are available to cover up to 50% of project costs. The funding can be used to cover both revenue (eg venue hire, training, publicity) and capital expenditure (eg sports/play equipment, office furniture).

The type of projects that may be eligible include:

  • developing play facilities
  • development of a community shop
  • producing a new rural business directory
  • setting up an internet cafe
  • starting a parent and toddler group
  • running training courses for local people

If you project is based in a market town then you must be able to demonstrate the benefits to people living in the surrounding rural villages.
The scheme runs until the end of March 2008.
